Now that Thanksgiving is officially over, even though you may still have leftover turkey in your energy-efficient refrigerator at Gateway Crossing luxury apartments in Plano, Texas, get in the Christmas spirt at the annual Plano Tree Lighting Ceremony December 4 at Haggard Park. Downtown stores will stay open late for you to find a present for someone special. Local dance companies, high schools and church groups will sing and dance on several stages. Food vendors will offer Kettle corn, corn dogs, funnel cakes and other tasty treats. Children can write letters to Santa and place them in his mailbox. When he arrives, the letters will be given to him.

Following breakfast is the parade with marching bands, cheerleaders, drill teams, JROTC, Boy and Girl Scouts, floats and more.
