Find love through your tummy

So, now that the Super Bowl is over, the next big thing is of course Valentine’s Day! Are you ready? Do you like to show off your culinary skills in your gourmet kitchen with granite countertops in Gateway Crossing in Plano, TX? Or do you like to go to a fancy restaurant let the experts take care of everything? If you are like me, you will go with the second option.

Less than nine miles away is Steve Fields Steak and Lobster Lounge. They offer a special four course  Valentine’s Day menu with live piano music. Appetizers are for two with a choice of jumbo shrimp or mini crab cakes. The second course is Caesar salad, wedge of iceberg or crab and corn chowder. The main course options are filet mignon, Chilean sea bass, prime rib, lobster tail or crab cakes. And red velvet cake, carrot cake or chocolate cake for dessert.

Fourteen miles away is Jasper’s and they also offer a special Valentine’s Day four course menu. First course has the option of crab cakes, calamari, rib ravioli or a sweet onion mushroom tart. Second course is either a chicken masa soup, squash soup, Caesar salad, arugula salad or chopped wedge. Followed by the third course with your choice of pork chop, Kansas City strip, halibut, ahi, salmon or filet. And the last but not least, dessert trio, with chocolate-cherry cheese cake, shortbread hearts and chocolate dipped strawberries.

A little over 14 miles away is The Capital Grille. Their philosophy on food is to use the freshest, finest ingredients and artfully prepared. They age their steaks in house for 18 days and their butchers hand- carve them. Besides steaks, lamb chops, lobster, Chilean sea bass, salmon and other seafood items are on the menu. Dessert items include crème brulee, chocolate espresso cake, double chocolate cake, coconut cream pie and cheesecake.

Happy Valentine’s Day whether you choose to go out or have a quiet evening at Gateway Crossing.
